Tree Lighting Ceremony

This year's Christmas tree ceremony will be taking place this Sunday, November 26 from 4 to 5. Let's all come down and see the local Cub Scouts open the Christmas season. Share some fun and refreshments with your neighbors.

...while we are on the subject...

The Christmas Toy Box is now up and running (thanks Bev and Patty). You know the drill: Come down and pick one or more toy tags, give Santa a hand, drop the unwrapped gift in the box with the tag attached, feel all warm inside while it is cold outside.

Special Town Meeting November 30th at 7:30 pm

As is usual around this time of year, there will be a special town meeting for fiduciary housekeeping. The warrant is available for perusal at the town offices, but the gist of it is three articles regarding waste management: an approval to add $3,000 or less to curbside pickup and $12,000 or less to Transfer Station operations and roll-off tonnage, both articles seeking funds from General Fund, and an approval to spend up to $10,000 of Capital Improvement Reserve Account funds on an attendants building.

There is an additional article to authorize spending up to $18,500.00 of Capital Improvement Reserve Account funds towards fitting the plow trucks with brine equipment.

You may expect a discussion on the current waste management situation, which the selectmen have been focusing on, and which the residents are urged to become familiar with.

Nomination Papers Due January 2nd

The deadline to submit nomination papers for next town meeting's election has been moved from January 18 to January 2. Please plan accordingly. Papers are available Wednesday, November 22 (offices will close at Noon).

Please consider doing your part in rendering service to your community. The town recommends any resident to come down and discuss what the positions entail, with no obligation whatsoever.

Limington residents are advised to take advantage of the subscription agreement made available by the EMS. Although nobody wants to think about a trip to the hospital, an ambulance run can easily run up to $1,000. Even if you have insurance, it might only cover part of the cost. A small cash outlay right now can buy a lot of peace of mind.

FAMILY: $25 | INDIVIDUAL: $15 | SENIOR: $7:00

Please come down to Town Hall and pick up a subscription form. You may also click on the image above or this link to download a printable copy. This years' coverage runs from april 1st (unless you sign up later than that date), through March 31st 2018, so it is advisable to secure coverage as soon as possible.
