SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES

July 3, 2008

 

Selectmen's Office is opened at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Televised Selectmen’s Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

SELECTMEN: James Bickford, Philip Dearborn, and Raymond Webb, Sr. were in attendance. 

Televised Meeting Opened:  Selectman Bickford brought the meeting to order at 7:07pm.

Attending:    Nancy Maxwell, Phil Armentino, and Roxanne Herrick.

Selectmen’s Minutes: Selectman Dearborn made a motion to accept the minutes of the Selectmen’s Meeting for June 26, 2008 as written.  Second by Selectman Webb and vote was unanimous.

Accounts Payable and Payroll: Selectman Webb made a motion to accept and approve Warrant #27: Appropriations: $45,112.82 and Payroll: $5,039.30.  Second by Selectman Dearborn and vote was unanimous.

PURCHASE ORDER REQUESTS:

Moy Mo Da Yo: PO request to reimburse Gary Fullerton $48.89 for 2-100lb bags of silica sand to be used in restoration of tennis court surface.  Selectman Webb made a motion to reimburse Gary Fullerton $48.89, second by Selectman Dearborn, and vote was unanimous.

            PO request to reimburse Anne Dunbar $46.20 for 44 water noodles to be strung on a rope to float, and separate the swimming area from boat launch area.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve the purchase order request, second by Selectman Webb, and vote was unanimous.

            PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $29.23, for floating swim line barrier and tennis court refurbishment supplies, and pump house supplies.  Selectman Webb made a motion to approve the purchase order, second by Selectman Dearborn and vote was unanimous.

            PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $49.80 for 10 bags of sakrete hi strength for tennis court project.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve the purchase order request, second by Selectman Webb, and vote was unanimous.

            Po request to reimburse Vince Kane $48.89 for 2-100lb bags of silica sand for tennis court. Selectman Webb made a motion to approve the purchase order, second by Selectman Dearborn and vote was unanimous.

EMS Department: PO request to purchase July medical supplies from Bound Tree Medical for $662.57.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve the purchase order request, second by Selectman Webb, and vote was unanimous.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Property Tax Bills: The tax bills have been mailed out.

Parade/Fireworks: Selectman Webb reported the parade will start in the village at 10:00am tomorrow on the 4th and end at the dairy.  Saturday at 5:00pm there will be a pig roast and fireworks this year will be held on Saturday night.

Town Office Closed: The Town Office will be closed for the holiday and also Saturday, July 5th.

Trash Pickup: Selectman Dearborn reported there will be trash pickup on Friday, July 4th.

Road Work: Selectman Bickford reported he spoke with Butch Harmon, Road Commissioner, and he will be working on Jo Joy Road next week and will probably be working on Tucker Road in two weeks.

Fuel Assistance: Fuel Assistance sign up will begin July 21st and 28th and August 18th and 25th .  These are the four Monday’s they will have for July and August. Anyone wishing to apply for fuel assistance must make an appointment by calling 1-800-965-5762 ext 2950.    If you need the phone number, call the girls in the office and they can give it to you. 

 

INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN:

General Assistance Office is opened Monday’s from 9am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.

Transfer Station Hours are, Saturday from 9am – 4pm; Sunday from 12-4pm; Wednesday from 10am – 2pm.  

Silver Bullets are in back parking lot behind Municipal Complex and is accessed by Axelsen Road.  An ad was placed in the Shopping Guide to help people find them.  Selectman Webb requested that everyone, please take a minute to breakdown the cardboard boxes for they take up a lot of space if not broke down. He asked all to keep up the good work on recycling.

CEO, Ronald Phinney: Vacation: CEO, Ronald Phinney will be on vacation for two weeks starting June 30th until July 11th.  The CEO from Limerick will fill-in for Mr. Phinney while he is away.

Limington Youth League: Selectman Dearborn thanked the Limington Youth League for holding the Cal Ripen play-offs last week, they did a great job.

Beach Area: Selectman Bickford reported the Moy Mo Da Yo beach area is becoming a family friendly area.  Take the time to go and enjoy the day, the committee is doing a great job.

4-Wheelers: Selectman Bickford asked that all riding 4-wheelers to please respect the landowner’s property, trails, and follow all state and local laws. 

 

Selectman Webb made a motion to adjourn at 7:25p.m.  Meeting adjourned.
