SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES

June 12, 2008

 

Selectmen's Office is opened at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Televised Selectmen’s Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

SELECTMEN: James Bickford, Philip Dearborn, and Raymond Webb, Sr. were in attendance. 

Televised Meeting Opened:  Selectman Bickford brought the meeting to order at 7:06pm.

Attending:    Nancy Maxwell, Ronald Phinney, and Roxanne Herrick

Selectmen’s Minutes: Selectman Webb made a motion to accept the minutes of the Selectmen’s Meeting for June 5, 2008 as written.  Second by Selectman Dearborn and vote was unanimous.

Accounts Payable and Payroll: Selectman Dearborn made a motion to accept and approve Warrant #24: Appropriations: $73,397.49 and Payroll: $3,590.30.  Second by Selectman Webb and vote was unanimous. Selectman Bickford reported $24,000 went to the purchase of the autopulse machines and $27,000 was ecomaine’s bill for May 08, assessment and tonnage.

 

PURCHASE ORDER REQUESTS: none

NEW BUSINESS:

Chases Mill Bridge: Maine DOT will hold a Public Meeting on Thursday, June 26, at 6:00pm here at the Municipal Complex to discuss the future replacement of the Chases Mill Bridge on Hardscrabble Road.  Selectman Bickford stated this hearing is very important, this road affects many living in the area, and hopes there will be a good turnout.

Municipal Parking Lot Paving: Selectman Bickford reported the paving was completed today and the Selectmen were asked to extend the no-use time.  The Municipal parking lot will be taped off Friday and over the weekend to give the paving, time to setup.  CEO, Ron Phinney reminded everyone, when parking at the Fire Station, please make sure you are not blocking the emergency vehicle doors, the fire trucks and rescue must be able to exit.

 

INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN:

General Assistance Office is opened Monday’s from 9am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.

Transfer Station Hours are, Saturday from 9am – 4pm; Sunday from 12-4pm; Wednesday from 10am – 2pm.  

Silver Bullets are in back parking lot behind Municipal Complex and is accessed by Axelsen Road.  Selectman Webb reported the Townspeople are using the recycling bins out back and to keep up the good work.  Selectman Bickford stated the Selectmen are looking into making this a permanent location for the silver bullets.

Town Roadways: Selectman Bickford reported F.R. Carroll has done some of the FEMA paving work (from storm damage in 2007) on town roads.   

Warning: Selectman Bickford stated the fire danger is at 3 and asked all to be very careful with fire.  Also, he asked anyone with a 4-wheeler to please respect the landowners and their land and follow the rules/laws when out 4-wheeling.

  

Selectman Webb made a motion to adjourn at 7:14p.m.  Meeting adjourned.
