SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES

May 22, 2008

 

Selectmen's Office is opened at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Televised Selectmen’s Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

SELECTMEN: James Bickford, Philip Dearborn, and Raymond Webb, Sr. were in attendance. 

Televised Meeting Opened:  Selectman Bickford brought the meeting to order at 7:03pm.

Attending:    Nancy Maxwell, Ronald Phinney, Anne Dunbar, and Roxanne Herrick

Selectmen’s Minutes: Selectman Webb made a motion to accept the minutes of the Selectmen’s Meeting for May 15, 2008 as written.  Second by Selectman Dearborn and vote was unanimous.

Accounts Payable and Payroll: Selectman Dearborn made a motion to accept and approve Warrant #21: Appropriations: $21,668.80 and Payroll: $3,446.90.  Second by Selectman Webb and vote was unanimous. 

 

PURCHASE ORDER REQUESTS:

MMDYRAC: PO request to reimburse Gary Fullerton $49.46 for food purchased for cleanup day at the beach.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve the request, with second by Selectman Webb, and vote was unanimous.

      PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $54.55 for 1 -50amp outlet box.  Selectman Bickford made a motion to approve the purchase order with second by Selectman Dearborn, and vote was unanimous.

      PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $50.00 for 1-State background check on RV host at lake.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve, second by Selectman Webb and vote was unanimous.

      PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $45.34 for 2-gate combination locks and a pkg. of 4 locks for picnic tables.  Selectman Bickford made a motion to approve the purchase order with second by Selectman Dearborn, and vote was unanimous.

      PO request to reimburse Howard Allen $132.00 for day pass stickers to be sold for resident entrance to the beach area.  Selectman Dearborn made a motion to approve, second by Selectman Bickford, and vote was unanimous.

      PO request to Tennis Universal Inc. for $6,364.40 for supplies to resurface the tennis courts at the beach, including 2-tennis posts, 2-ground sleeves and 2-tennis nets.  Selectman Bickford reported this was within there budget and made a motion to approve purchase, second by Selectman Dearborn, and vote was unanimous. 

Fire Department: PO request to have Mark Chartier repair diaphragm trailer pump which won’t stay running.  Selectman Webb made a motion to approve, second by Selectman Bickford, and vote was unanimous.

EMS Department:  PO request to Hannaford’s for food for BBQ to feed personnel for testing students.  Selectman Bickford made a motion to approve, second by Selectman Webb, and vote was unanimous.

   

NEW BUSINESS:

Silver Bullets: Selectman Bickford reported the recycling silver bullets are down by the plow trucks outback the Municipal Complex (use Axelsen Road) because preparations are being made to pave the Municipal parking lot.

Limington Academy Well: The Academy Trustee’s held a meeting on Tuesday night, May 20, 2008 with those who use the Academy well and DEP representative. Selectman Webb reported the Trustee’s made some commitments with Joe Hanley and the State, but the Selectmen are still negotiating at this time. 

Holiday: The Town offices will be closed Monday June 26, 2008 for Memorial Day.

 

INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN:

General Assistance Office is opened Monday’s from 9am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. Selectman Webb said he would be open on Tuesday, May 27th next week, due to the holiday on Monday.

Transfer Station Hours are, Saturday from 9am – 4pm; Sunday from 1-5pm; Wednesday from 10am – 2pm. take it from there.

Blood Drive: The Boy Scouts will be sponsoring a blood drive on Saturday, May 24th from 8am to 1pm here at the Municipal Complex.

Salt Shed Project: CEO, Ron Phinney went to the salt shed site to check on the concerns of a neighbor about the possible noise level when the salt shed is open.  Mr. Phinney reported there is a tree buffer zone (mostly hard wood) and if some pine (soft wood) was planted there should be no problem.

  

Selectman Dearborn made a motion to adjourn at 7:15p.m.  Meeting adjourned.
