March 6 and 7: ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
The Annual Election and Town Meeting will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 and Saturday, March 7, 2015. Attached is a copy of the sample ballot and warrant.
Secret ballot voting 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2015.
Ballot highlights: In addition of the Contract Deputy decision, Raymond Cullen and Charlie Huntress are running for Selectman, plus there is a trivial Zoning Ordinance housekeeping item.
Town Meeting day is Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 am til it's over.
Town Meeting Warrant highlights: Article 5: Designation of a Capital Improvement Reserve Account with approximately $178,000 with funds transferred from 4 other accounts; Article 6: moving all future cable tv franchise fees to said Capital Improvement Reserve Account; Article 7: To borrow up to $165,000 to build a maintenance building; Article 14: Volunteer firefighter compensation initiative; Article 23: Authorizing the selectmen, as long as the Financial Advisory Committee approves, to transfer funds between warrant article accounts (this article is intended to avoid special town meetings currently required only for trivial financial housekeeping). Operation Backpack needs your help to mitigate nutritional deficiencies in our community, particularly with the children of Limington.
We are going to deliver to the children who attend HB Emery backpacs filled with nutritional, healthy foods and drinks.
We need community members willing to:
1.- Donate healthy snacks and drinks.
2.- Pack the backpacks prior to delivery to the school.
3.- Attend our weekly meetings, Fridays at 9:00 A.M., at the Municipal Complex.
