SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 29, 2012

This is not a transcription of the meeting but minutes for reference.

 

Selectmen's Office is opened at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Televised Selectmen’s Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

SELECTMEN: Darryl Hubbard, Bruce Rozett and Raymond Cullen were in attendance. 

 

Attendance: Willard Boothby, Bonnie Lord, Mike and Geraldine Nevells, and Roxanne Herrick.

 

Selectman Hubbard brought the Selectmen’s Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Selectmen’s Minutes: Selectman Cullen made a motion to approve the minutes of the Selectmen’s Meeting for March 22, 2012, second by Selectman Rozett and vote unanimous.

Warrant #13:  Selectman Rozett made a motion to approve Warrant #13: Appropriations: $20,311.13  Payroll: $5,449.99, for a total of $25,761.12, second by Selectman Cullen and vote unanimous.  Roxanne Herrick gave an account of Warrant #13 expenditures;

PURCHASE ORDER REQUESTS:

General Highway:  Selectman Hubbard read the General Highway purchase order request to purchase one Johnson measuring wheel from Steep Falls Building Supply, est. cost $30.00.  He made a motion to approve the request, second by Selectman Rozett and vote unanimous.

Snow & Ice:  Selectman Hubbard read the purchase order requests from Snow & Ice: PO request to purchase a brake pad set and two anti-seize lubricants from Sanel, cost $106.97 for plow truck #8-F550; PO request to purchase one Lakeland Ansi Plus 2 Parka for $150.00 from North East Emergency Apparatus; PO request to pay Michael Herrick Welding $495.00 to fix exhaust, remove wing, cut sander loose and help remove, remove front blade, fix rear taillight and get tailgate latches working on plow truck #6-Mack.  Selectman Hubbard made a motion to approve the requests, second by Selectman Rozett and vote unanimous.

EMS Dept: Selectman Cullen read the purchase order requests from the EMS Department: PO request to purchase CPR cards for the Youth League from North East Mobile Health for $12.00; PO request to reimburse Mike Hartford $71.02 for pizza purchased to feed fire fighters on 3/24/12 fire.  Selectman Cullen made a motion to accept, second by Selectman Rozett and vote unanimous.

Fire Dept: Selectman Cullen made a motion to accept the purchase order request to reimburse Mike Hartford $38.19 for parts needed to repair the power washers broken water line, second by Selectman Rozett and vote unanimous.

 

OLD AND NEW BUSINESS:

Rescue Subscription: Selectman Rozett reminded residents that the Limington Emergency Medical Service Ambulance Subscription Agreement for 2012-13 was mailed out, it is a good deal, and agreements are due back by April 1, 2012. 

Public Hearing: Selectman Rozett wanted to remind people there will be a public hearing tonight at 7:30pm to talk about the ordinance for the Road Commissioner.  The ordinance has been available on the town website for two weeks and advertised in the Shopping Guide.

Special Town Meeting: Selectman Rozett mentioned that the Selectmen have set a date of April 19th for a Special Town Meeting, the purpose of which is to consider for approval both the Road Commissioner Ordinance and the Limington Youth League Oversight Committee Ordinance.  Again, Special Town Meeting, April 19th at 7:00pm in this room, on that date the Selectmen’s Meeting will be at 6:30pm and the Special Town Meeting will be at 7:00pm.  There will be another public hearing next Thursday, April 5th  at 7:30pm, giving a second opportunity for people to comment on Road Commissioner Ordinance and the Youth League Ordinance, which will be up on the town website tomorrow, and we will seek public comment on that ordinance also. 

Appointment: Selectman Rozett made a motion to approve the appointment of Jeff Amatrudo to the Planning Board, a two year term starting April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2014 which is to fill the balance of the term of Jim Braley, second made by Selectman Cullen and vote unanimous. 

 

INFORMATIONAL BULLETIN:

General Assistance Office Hours: Monday and Tuesday – 3:30pm to 5pm. 

Transfer Station Winter Hours are Saturday - 9am to 4pm and Sunday – noon to 4pm.

Silver Bullets for recycling are beside the Municipal Complex parking lot.  Selectman Rozett mentioned we are doing well with recycling and asked all to continue.

 Limington Extension’s “Cheep’-‘Cheep’ Easter Sale will be held on April 7th (the day before Easter) from 8am to 1pm in this building.  Hundreds of 25 cent items like Easter plush & pkgs. of eggs (some with candy); over 100 -25 & 50 cent Easter baskets.  Selectman Rozett mentioned this is a program run by Karen Chaplin to raise funds for BEHS scholarships.  FMI –call Karen at 692-2989.

Open Meeting: Bonnie Lord mentioned the Selectmen were going to get back to the townspeople with the total spent on the Frances Small issue.  Selectman Rozett reported the total was $16,410.00. 

 

Selectman Rozett made a motion to adjourn, second by Selectman Cullen.
